Promoted in 2008, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) is a state private, non-profit, co-educational, Catholic research university based in Guwahati. ADBU was founded by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and is managed by the Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati.
The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India. The university is also approved by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), India and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India.
The university’s vision is to mould young persons into intellectually competent, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired citizens at the service of India and the world of today and tomorrow, by imparting holistic and personalised education.
The university boasts three campuses:
ABDU campuses feature well-equipped classrooms (with LCD projectors and audio systems), workshops, well- equipped laboratories, canteens, coffee shops and auditoriums. ‘DBCET Book Cafe’ provides text books (used and new), reference books, buy back and rental facilities and a well-stocked, spacious and computerised library.
The university provides well-equipped computer labs, with over 500 computers networked under Linux; computing centres with internet enabled computers to serve the day-to-day computing needs of students.

Admission procedure for graduate courses-
B.Tech: Admissions are granted on a first-come-first-served basis into preferred branches (according to availability of seats) from the date the candidates fulfill eligibility criteria.
BCA, B.Com, BA (Honours): Admissions are granted on a first-come-first-served basis to candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria after the results of the qualifying examinations are declared.
At the time of admission, the candidates must be accompanied by their parent(s).
