Overview
Alliance Francaise de Bangalore is a part of a global network of more than 850 institutions under Alliance Francaise, an organisation founded in Paris in 1883, to promote French language and culture. The centre in Bangalore was established in 1963, and over the last 50 years, it has endeavoured to conduct cultural and linguistic exchanges in order to develop a healthy Indo-French relationship. Alliance Francaise de Bangalore offers French language courses for children, teens, individuals and corporations.
It caters to over 3500 students per year and boasts 40 dedicated teaching staff members that work in centres across Bangalore in different locations. The completion of a French language course at Alliance Francaise de Bangalore would result in the student receiving a diploma that is recognised worldwide. The organisation also regularly hosts cultural events such as book readings, talent events and movie screenings. In 2017, it hosted the Bangalore Queer Film Festival.

Alliance Francaise de Bangalore is the only authorised institute in Bangalore that offers globally recognised French proficiency diplomas (DELF and DALF) that are issued by the French National Education Ministry. All teachers there are FFL qualified, i.e. they are qualified to teach French as a Foreign Language.
Classes are divided into age groups: children (7-10 years old) and teenagers (11-14 years old) can take classes throughout the year on weekends in a 60-hour course structure. Every year a new schedule is updated on the AF Bangalore website.
