Overview
Founded in 2000, Ahmedabad International School (AIS), is one of the best international schools in Gujarat offering education from kindergarten through class XII. AIS is approved by the Gujarat State Education Board (GSEB) and follows its curriculum.
The school also offers the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme. AIS is the first school in Gujarat to be authorized by the IBO for its Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Campus
The school hosts spacious classrooms, auditorium, well-stocked library and laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology, maths and computers.
Academics
For nursery to class VII, the school offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme with national curriculum. There are two options offered from class VIII to X, Gujarat State Board (SSC) and Cambridge IGCSE. For class XI and XII, the school offers three options, Gujarat State Board (HSC), Cambridge International Examination (AS & A levels) and International Baccalaureate Diploma. AIS offers Science, Commerce and Arts streams for classes XI and XII.
Extracurricular
AIS lays emphasis on extra-curricular activities such as music, art & design, yoga and life skills education. The school celebrates all the important festivals, and students participate in inter-school competitions and conferences. During the academic year, PYP exhibitions, science and math exhibitions, picnics and field trips are organised.
Sports activities include athletics, cricket, badminton, table tennis, swimming, volleyball, basketball, chess and football.
Admission
Application forms are available at the school office and on the school website from December 4-7 every year. The duly filled in application and admission forms with the supporting documents need to be submitted to the school office within the first week of December for nursery admissions. For admission to nursery, the child should have completed 2 years on December 31. The waitlist application form for Jr. Kg., Sr. Kg. and classes 1-7 are available till mid April. The forms for admission to the IGSCE classes VIII and XI are available till mid April.
